Aladdin Movie Night

Tonight we done another family movie night and from my title you can see we *are* watching Aladdin. =) I say *are* bc my girls are actually sitting and watching it as we speak! Well it's more like it's on the T.V. and LL is watching then pausing to say "Ok who wants to be in my talent show?" While she is trying to make A do what she wants her to. Ha isn't working out to well for her. A is a freeheart woman! lol is that even real? I mean she is not having LL or anyone else for that matter tell her what to do. I think she gets that from her moma.

So anywho, we had our dinner earlier would ya like to know how it went? ... Why so you can get a good laugh? lol That's why I would read. =) No it actually went very well this go round. Maybe because I have cooked all this before and to be honest the mean is kinda my go to meal. We went deep in the desert to Argabi (I'm not sure if that is how you spell it) for our meal. We had Aboo Chicken, Theif's Cornbread, Jafar's evil black eyed peas and for dessert we had Raja Chocolate Balls. AKA: Baked chicken, homemade cornbread, black eyed peas, and peanut butter balls. And this chick helped me....

Here is the master piece. LOL

Better done like this. I'm telling ya mix those peas and cornbread together and you have magic in yo mouth!! =)

Then you got these mouth watering babies! I could eat these all day everyday. And guess what they turned out yummy and I have only made these one other time I tell ya!

And here is the kitchen afterwards. Not so bad this time huh?

This was a fun meal all because I actually cooked something that turned out good! lol Even if I have cooked it before it's still progress right? Come on give a girl a break! =) How bout it? Who out there is surprised? I know I am and so will my main man once he gets home to try these bad boys (the balls that is).

Hope everyone has a fabulous weekend!

One more thing ...

I went thrifting yesterday and found this cute picture frame for a buck forty eight. I have seen a couple of frames online that I have been wanting to attempt to transform and this frame looked perfect for my experiment. =)

I also bought some white spray paint and I have several fabrics and paint at home to choose from.

I sprayed it white like so... then painted it purple.

Then made some cute fabric flowers to go along. After the paint dried I put the flowers on with a glue gun.

Wallah... there you have it folks a cutie putie picture frame that holds a 4x6 picture.

Attn: If you want to laugh until you pee yourself... read this

Well I tried to cook last night ... by myself.... and well I NEED cooking lessons, that's a fact. People this is serious I can't even bake a cake out of the box.

We changed our movie to Sleeping Beauty bc LL just had watch that movie first, so I agreed (I'm learning to pick my battles). Since I didn't have time to plan I found myself looking up ideas on my phone on the way to Walmart. I couldn't find anything to theme it with so I just decided to go with something a little simple and I will make up the names.

We had King's Casserole, Fairy Taters and Princess Aurora Birthday Cake.

First off since I do not know how to cook I know nothing about how long things take. I had planned to make home made croissants. I did not know bread takes so long to cook. Yea I started cooking at 4 thinking it would all be done by 6 or so. Well first of all you have to let the dough rise for an hour and then another hour and then over night, so smart me ya know thinks maybe I can put a twist on it and still make it taste ok! HA! After I finally (I still did everything the same just not the times) got it all done they came out of the oven HARD AS A ROCK! I mean if I would have thrown them off the wall it would have put a hole there. LOL

So I started with my chicken casserole, "King's Casseroles" , thawed my chicken and cut it in chunks and put it in first, covered it in shredded cheese, put a can of cream of chicken over that, then added bread crumbs and a little butter. Cooked that in the oven for an hour on 350. After it was cooked I added rice. This actually turned out pretty good, I think anyways lol. It didn't look to hot though.

Next I cheated I just did boxed mash taters and they were great. As always. =)

Here is the funny part... Who here cannot cook? Anyone??... Anyone???... Hands raised over here. Y'all, I messed it up? How? Well apparently I was supposed to put my mix in TWO 8" round glass pans instead of ONE bc If you do one this is what it will come out looking like.

Well after the time was up I stuck my fork in to make sure it was done... well it wasn't, it was actually far from being done. So I had to take it out and scrap all the goo out and try and cook the rest. After, LL and i tried to put the icing and sprinkles on, well that up there is how it turned out. Awesome huh? It still taste pretty good though. lol Yes we ate it still are actually. =)

This is what my kitchen looked like after I was done. A big mess.

Maybe I should try this again? I am not sure what movie we will go with next week but let's pray it turns out better then this one huh? If anyone out there has any suggestions feel free to share =)

Ok maybe it isn't as funny to everyone but I am not sure I know anyone else that is as bad of a cook as I am. Do you?

Learning to cook... well maybe?

I recently read one of my friends blogs (I actually met her in A's kindermusik class) and she had the cutest idea and if I knew how to link I would link you Raegan. =)

So if you know me you know that I have not the slightest idea how to cook. I can make grilled cheese, chicken and the occasional eggs and I say occasional bc they do not always come out tasting good. I bet at least 4 times a week we have chicken, boxed mash taters and can green beans. ha My hubby is a great cook so he does most the cooking, he can make some mean Kabobs. So I was thinking why don't I get recipes off the internet and start blogging my progress? I racked my brain for ideas when I came across Raegan's blog. Perfect. She is having family movie dinner nights. Meaning what ever movie they are watching that night she will incorporate a dinner to go along. As well as she I want to do most Disney movies and since LL and A have almost every Disney movie ever made =) it works out perfect.

So as I am learning to cook and reporting how it's going, my sweet family can have fun. =) Even though most nights we will probably end up eating popcorn bc I will mess it up. ha At least I am going to attempt right?

I think the first night I might try and work in tomorrow or the next day we will see but I am going to do Tangled. Since LL just had that theme for her birthday party I thought I might as well row with it. (and real quick I am going to try and do this once a night) I will have to get back to you on what I am going to make. If any of you have advice please send it my way. =)

Alright fingers crossed I don't mess this up. =).....

Error

I am not sure what happened with the last post but it posted before I was done and I didn't even put a title so anyways here are the rest of the pictures....

This was A's teacher the first two days (she ended up teaching LL's class a couple days too) She was so good with A and I think they both took to each other.

Ready to go!

A had three teachers and this was her last one.
Ok I tried to blog a couple days ago but when I went to download the pictures I sat here for half an hour and still nothing. They would not load to my page? Does anyone else have this problem? On facebook it takes no time so I don't think it's my computer, but to be honest what do I know? lol So this time around I am trying to upload one picture at a time and see how that works for me. We shall see....

Alright today's blog is about VBS. I have to admit this is my girls first bible school experience and well only my 2nd =( Growing up we weren't involved in church as much as I wanted to be honest we didn't go very often. Just usually holidays and occasions and sometimes just because so I am very glad that Monte and I are raising the girls up in church. Don't get me wrong my mom was an awesome mom and gave me everything I ever wanted I just wish that this would have been one of those things. But ya live ya learn, oh and my mom is also more involved herself! =) But any who the only other VBS I went to was when I think I was like 10 years old and it was a cowboy theme. I don't remember a whole lot about it but I do remember having a lot of fun. And let me tell you we have had a blast this year. I helped sweet Laynee teach 3rd grade and I want to mention she is an awesome teacher and very patient (something I still pray for daily lol). The kids really were great other than a lot of talking when they should be listening but hey what kid doesn't do that?

LL was in the 4 year old class and that child I will tell ya she is something else with her dancing. I know I say all the time (and that she is only 4) but she is seriously going to be a dancer when she grows up, she's got some moves. Even when people were doing their own thing she was dancing. This is no lie when we came home last night we turned on our VBS CD (which she won because she knew the motto ... Hear it... Believe it... Connect it) and I was seriously watching her to know the next move. Speaking of I had to get up on stage last night to dance, oh me I'm not as good as I once was (well if that ever was) back in my cheerleading days. At one point while we were still eating they turned on the music in the gym and there were a couple people standing and LL went over and started doing the dances, well they all had to walk away one by one and buddy she kept on until all the songs were over. lol

A was just in the nursery and sometimes got to do things with the 2 year olds. The first day before I left the workers asked me if there was anything they needed to know about her and I said yes she is out of control LOL She really isn't that bad but the little booger is quick and before you know it she can get out of your sight. She had a great time as well and really bonded with the workers. Every time I walked by though I seen her working them to tired, either running, eating or playing haha. They said she did great and was very good though. The first night she made me a foam apple with her little hand print in the middle and it's a magnet. So CUTE.

I didn't take many pictures and only on the first day. I do however plan on taking my camera tonight to family fun night and getting some good pictures and I plan to post them later.... We will see if that happens. ha I think all in all my girls had a GREAT time and we will definitely be back next year. I am sad to see it come to an end. Until next year HEAT IT BELIEVE IT AND CONNECT IT!!!! =)

Lynnlee with her sweet friend Brinlee waiting to get started.

This is Evan he is so stinking cute and I love to hear him talk. His mom is Laynee she is who I helped teach.

Me Me MEEE...

These are the swim lesson pictures I never uploaded lol

This is LL and her only other person in her class. I cannot remember his name but I did meet his grandpa and he was super nice.

This is LL's swim teacher. She actually had two but this was the last one.

Whew...

That's all I can say about this day is Whew.... First off we had swimming lessons this morning and it was the girls last day. Their lessons are at 9:30 a.m. so I knew today might be a little off seeings how A woke up at midnight and again at 5 something. Monte had to work tonight so he stayed home to sleep so I had both girls by myself. I know what you are thinking ahh not so hard but geesh I have one chick who likes to run ahead and be the "helper" by opening the door and then another chick who doesn't like to be held very often and wants to get down and run (and believe me she is one quick little booger). So it was a struggle getting them inside to say the least. Then once we get inside LL goes to her teacher which is good she is a great listener for other people (and me too just not all the time) I have to get in with A bc it's a mommy and me class well from the get go A was just not having it (and this child has loved swimming lessons from day one). She didn't want any part in any of it, no going under, no climbing out and jumping in and no blowing bubbles. After class they wanted to take a group picture, well LL was excited about this any excuse to get her picture made she is there but A not so much and I had brought my camera so I wanted to takes pictures as well. I was trying to put LL's shirt on and while doing that A took off running finally her instructor held her while I got LL situated and we did get every one's picture made it just took a minute or two. =)

So A was ill (and for my in-law family I mean upset not sick;) ) most the day and I finally got her down for a good nap around 1:30 she sleep for about 2 1/2, 3 hours so that was great (of course LL never slept so no break for me there). Once everyone was up and had dinner I decided I wanted to take us all for a walk around our subdivision. I *try* and put A in the jogging stroller ...yea well I turned my back to get something and once I turned back around she had gotten out somehow. I did put her back in and managed to keep her in for a little while. LL had to walk ya know she is 4 now so she thinks she is grown which is fine she listens pretty well and watches for car but it's not like we have any I think we saw maybe two our whole walk. So A is whining the whole time, she would get quiet a little bit then start up again. I ended up putting LL in the stroller for a little bit bc I wanted to run well once I let her out before coming home A HAD to get out as well. BIG MISTAKE!! She wanted t push the stroller that she couldn't reach then when she couldn't she would throw a fit. I would try and pick her up and carry her another fit. At one point she fell flat out on the ground crying and having a full blown temper tantrum. I just looked at her, finally she got up and still crying she tries to wiggle out of my arms. Well I look up to see my neighbors looking at me... all I could say is "sorry, excuse the circus coming through". Needless to say I am home and looking forward to bedtime =).

I am going to blame this bad day on teething. Those darn teeth coming through my sweet baby's gums are causing her to be in a bad mood. lol What can ya do? It comes with motherhood and I wouldn't trade it in for anything in the world. =)

Hope everyone has a blessed and safe weekend!

4th ... Well kind of =)

Since my poor hubby had to work this year on the fourth and didn't get to see a single firework, we celebrated on the fifth. =) I let the girls get all decked out in there red, white and blue gear and even painted some blue on LL and outside we went. We had a ton of fireworks and the girls only liked the ones that didn't make noise lol which wasn't very many. I hope our neighbors didn't get to made oops....

This was way cool. It's a lantern (ya think? ha) we watched for a goo 10 minutes before it finally got to high and went out. LL thought it was for her birthday bc you know she just had a tangled theme party.

Ha This is what poor Rosco done the whole time while shooting fireworks ... He was a little scared.

This chick can climb with the best of em...

Like LL's tats and make-up?

4 Years Already?

Birthday Girl

Her theme was Disney's Tangled

Where has the time gone? The saying really is true "time flies when you're having fun" my baby is four. FOUR. That means this time next year we will be getting her ready to start school. WHAT? I am crying just thinking about it. Anyways we had her party here (we usually have it back in the Flo don't ask me why all her friends are here) and she had such a great turn out, got tons of fun toys and most importantly told me "THIS IS MY BEST BIRTHDAY EVER" in her oh so sweet little four year old voice. Her favorite toy, and again I love you mom for this, is her leapster explorer that her mimi got her and guys when she is playing it, get this she doesn't say a word all about it and is actually really good at it and it has already taught her a ton. We recently bought her a few games to go with it so that is just awesome to her. After her party we went to Zaxbys for some yummy food (we had to be quick it was 1,000 degrees out and we had cake and ice cream in the car) the whole time we were there, get this again she didn't say much just played her game oh well she did tell me over and over how great of a mommy I am bc "THIS IS MY BEST BIRTHDAY EVER" =) That chick knows how to make her mommy a happy camper. I think A had a great time also. Of course she loved the cake and ice cream.

So this makes me super excited about birthdays to come I hope I can always make these little stinkers this happy. I never knew being a mother would be this rewarding and I for sure never knew I could love another person the way I love my two chick-a-s =)

I love this picture! Sweet A

She put her hands on her hips and said "cheese"
